A Direct Payment lets you arrange your own care. We can guide you through your options and support you with payroll, paperwork and compliance
The Disability Resource Centre provides a wide range of services to help you live independently at home.
A Direct Payment is a way that people can access funds to arrange their own care and continue to live as independently as possible.
It empowers you to make your own choices and have control over the support you receive.
Local authorities and health authorities in England and Wales have a statutory responsibility to offer support to people with assessed needs, including the option of receiving a Direct Payment.
Manage your own care
Hire your own Personal Assistant (PA) to support you with your needs
Be in control of your care funds and any payments due
Live independently within your own home
Have control over your life and make your own choices

If you decide to hire a Personal Assistant (PA), you take on the responsibilities of an employer—such as paying tax and National Insurance—and you’ll need to comply with employment law and relevant legislation.
You don’t have to manage this alone. You can choose to use our Direct Payment Support Team for comprehensive support and advice every step of the way.
We’ll help ensure your payments and accounts are up to date and that you are complying with employment and HMRC regulations.
Our Direct Payment Support Team also offers a payroll service to manage your tax and National Insurance responsibilities.
If you’d like more support, we can provide a fully managed account service. You still keep control of your bank account, without the stress of dates, deadlines and compliance. We can also provide regular statements and updates, so you can be as involved—or uninvolved—as you like (subject to terms and conditions).
Arrange a free, no obligation appointment (on the phone and/or online) to talk through your options.
To get started, send us your name, email and phone number (if you’d like us to call you).
